Another Gala bingo hall is set to close next week, this time in Birmingham where they blame a triple blow from the smoking ban, increased taxation and new gambling laws banning big jackpot machines.
Seventeen jobs will go at the Bingo club in Great Barr, which will be closing its doors to players on June 23.

Proposals to demolish a Hamilton landmark have be given the go-ahead.
The former Vogue Bingo building is to be replaced with a four-storey office block with parking and landscaping and is part of the Hamilton Towers scheme which includes the cinema, hotel, restaurants and flats.

Detectives are hunting three armed robbers who stole a large sum of cash from an Armagh bingo hall.
Three masked men entered the hall on Dobbin Street at around half-eleven and threatened staff with a hand-gun or a hammer.
The PSNI said all three men were around 5′10” tall and wore balaclavas.
